This Week in Junior Kindergarten

May 16- May 20  

Phonograms: 

  • We will review all of our phonograms and we will listen for sounds at the beginning, the middle and at the ending of words.  

  

Literature: 

  • Our literature lessons will focus on the book The Tortoise and the Jackrabbit. We will continue to identify the terms author, illustrator,  setting and main character. We will also practice narration by retelling the events in the story.  We will compare and contrast this story to the traditonal tale, Tortoise and the Hare.

 

Math:

  • We will practice number sense and ordering to 30 and counting by 10′s.  We will begin some adding and subtracting activities.

 Unit Study:

  • We will cntinue discussing the desert habitat.  We will talk about the Tortoise, the Hare and the coyote.

Monday, May 23rd (Rain date, May 25th): Splash Day at Mrs. McCaw’s house (8:45-11:30)
