Chapel at Live Oak

Weekly Chapel: Community worship is important to us. It is the one time of the week where faculty, staff and students can come escape from the daily routine to come before God in worship.

Our worship is liturgical and ordered in style combining both ancient and contemporary traditions, music, and practices. It is a time and place that provides community with Christians throughout the ages and around the world and fosters expectation through liturgy and tradition. We follow the RCL (Revised Common Lectionary) and celebrate and learn about the seasons of the church. We also learn about saints and Christian heroes and heroines of the faith. Worship is not viewed as entertainment, and we recognize that worship is not to be focused on our needs, or ourselves but rather it is a time and place to give honor and glory to God. Students at Live Oak are familiar with the order of worship and find comfort in knowing how we worship and why we worship. They all know what to expect and how to participate. Students lead out in all chapel services. Parents are always welcome to attend.

Seasonal and Special Services: Parents are especially invited to the following services which are held in the sanctuary:

Convocation, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas Candlelight and Nativity, Lent, Maundy Thursday, Circling of the Green/Closing Ceremony
