Alison Moffatt believes that many factors in her life brought her to the point of wanting to help found Live Oak Classical School. Education has always been important to Alison; she graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University with a B.A. in English and from Texas A&M with a Masters in Education Administration. Her work at Rice University as assistant director of admissions allowed her to visit schools across the nation and see first hand what made for great schools. Because she believes that a classical education is vitally important, Mrs. Moffatt homeschooled 2 of her children for 5 years, using a classical curriculum. Alison has three children who attend Live Oak and a husband, Todd, who is a general surgeon. Mrs. Moffatt serves as the Head of School.
Allison Buras is a Baylor graduate with a B.A. in English and a minor in History. At Westover she also lived in the dormitory with students and served as Director of Residential Life. Last year Mrs. Buras taught Kindergarten at Live Oak and currently serves as a 2nd grade core teacher. She is married to Todd Buras, who is on faculty in the Philosophy Department at Baylor, and they have two children, Benjamin and Jonathan.
