Student Life Meetings

Dear Logic and Rhetoric Parents,

In our Student Life meeting last Tuesday night, we found that many of you would like an opportunity to sit down with your child and an administrator in order to discuss Fine Arts, Athletics, clubs and other academic programs at Live Oak. Mrs. Moffatt, Mrs. Still and Mr. Goff would like to schedule fifteen minute meetings with you and your student so that we may discuss possible options for next year. We will try to develop those programs that you want for your child in-line with the school vision. On Friday, May 14th, we will be available from 9am-11:30am and 1pm-2pm for meetings. Beginning on Monday, May 17th and Wednesday 19th, we will offer times during the school day and early evening to meet with you. Please email office@liveoakclassical.com with convenient days and times to meet with an administrator.

Grammar Basketball

We have begun practice for Grammar School Basketball. Our season will begin the week of Jan. 7th. We will have a schedule to post on the website the first week of Dec. Get out there and shoot, pass, and dribble. We’ll see you on the court. Coach Vardeman

Here’s what is happening the week of May 24th-27th: The students will participate in the Academic Decathlon at various times this week. Also, on Tuesday, the closing ceremonies will take place at 9 am. The sixth graders will be a part of this ceremony as they graduate from Grammar School to Logic School. Finally, school is dismissed at 12 noon on Thursday and this is a free dress day for the students.

I have loved teaching these students this year. It is hard to believe that my time of teaching them is drawing to a close. This particular group of students will hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to seeing what each one of them accomplishes in life. Happy Summer!

We are working on our Animal Research Projects these two weeks. Click here to see the schedule and requirements.

Students will put together a power point about a particular organism to present to the class. Presentations will begin Wednesday, April 28, and finish Friday, April 30. If we have time, we will head over the garden on Friday after presentations are finished.
