Head of School Announcement: Update on COVID-19

Live Oak Families, in support of our initial announcement regarding the COVID-19 virus and its potential impact on our school community, we’re continuing to closely monitor the situation based upon data and information within our local Central Texas community.  At this point and with the new pandemic definition, our entire Live Oak family needs to be committed to following the recommended procedures provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in order to prevent the additional spread of the virus.  We invite you to use the resources below for more detailed information:

Of highest importance, we’re also encouraging all families to strictly follow our school’s policy on school attendance when students are ill and/or showing symptoms of any illness.

At this time, we’re actively monitoring the situation and will continue to be proactive in our data and information gathering.  Additionally, we’re continuing our preparations for procedural changes in case the need arises for changes within our classroom and school campus settings.  As we have seen over the past 24 hours, recommendations from our federal, state, and local governments regarding educational organizations can change rapidly.  If the CDC or local authorities issue new guidelines, we will adjust accordingly and communicate those changes through our traditional communication channels (email, etc).

In the meantime, let’s continue our prayerful support for those around the world who are suffering because of the virus and for those in positions of influence to have wisdom as they lead through this season.
