After elevating our Fine Arts program to new heights as our first Director of Fine Arts, we share the bittersweet news that Mrs. Sarah Weatherly is moving on to a new role outside of the Live Oak administration and faculty. We are deeply grateful for her tireless and joyful service to our school community. Mrs. Weatherly, you will be dearly missed! We are also happy to announce that Mrs. Natalie Eberlein will move into the role of Director of Fine Arts to continue building upon the strong foundation established by Mrs. Weatherly and our Fine Arts Faculty.

Greetings, Live Oak parents! I am looking forward to partnering with you again as Dean of the Grammar School and would like to share some important staffing updates as we look forward to the coming school year.

I want to share some important staffing updates with you for the 2025-2026 school year. After six years at Live Oak, Dr. Tyra is moving on to teach where his daughter attends school. We benefitted greatly from his dedication, especially his memorable living history projects and engaging lectures. Thank you, Dr. Tyra! We’re also excited to welcome back two familiar faces. Blake Schorlemer will rejoin the Humanities Department as a full-time teacher. Since leaving Live Oak in 2020, Miss Schorlemer has taught at the Covenant School of Dallas, and we’re thrilled to have her back. Melinda Johnson is also returning after a year hiatus and will teach Earth Science and Anatomy & Physiology. Additionally, we’re pleased to introduce two new members of our Science Department: Lauren Mebane, who will teach Physics and Engineering, and Eli Thompson, who will serve as a department intern and teach Science Fair. Their additions bring even more expertise to our Logic & Rhetoric Faculty, and we are excited to help your children grow this fall. In the meantime, enjoy a restful summer!

Summer is a time for fun in the sun, and it’s also a great opportunity to explore fun academic opportunities that will help your child to thrive next year: 

Would your child benefit from some additional instruction in a camp or with a tutor? Or do you simply want to encourage your child to keep reading great books throughout the summer?

Remember to register for the Mathematicians in Training and Well Ordered Language Intensive camps coming up in July and check out all the resources in the “Next Year Now” section on the Live Oak website or Live Oak app.

DONATE TO THE UNIFORM CLOSET! | Doing some summer cleaning? The Uniform Closet would love your donations of gently used uniform pieces! Drop off items the front desk of the Grammar Building every Tuesday & Wednesday in June from 10 AM to 2 PM.

FULL TUITION PAYMENT DISCOUNT | If tuition is paid in full before June 15, a 2% deduction may be applied to the total price. Please email accounting@liveoakclassical.com with questions. Checks can be mailed or delivered to the Grammar Office.
