Funds for the Future

Funds for the Future

The Foundation exists to inspire the long-term flourishing of Live Oak Classical School. In our pursuit to make a Live Oak education accessible for all families, the Foundation is excited to establish 3 funds that are designed to grow over time and provide enduring support to the areas that matter most: our curriculum, our faculty, and our students. Each fund also bears the name of a teacher whose legacy has shaped this school deeply.

GIVE to the Future Funds

THE MICHELE JACKSON LEGACY FUND
The Michele Jackson Legacy Fund honors a beloved teacher whose nurturing spirit and dedication continue to inspire. Michele calls her students “her children” and creates a family-like learning environment. As a valued member of Live Oak Classical School, she supports colleagues with warmth and care. The fund supports faculty development, tuition assistance for faculty children, and celebrates her lasting legacy of kindness.

THE KATHERINE PITTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Katherine Pitts Scholarship Fund honors a dedicated teacher who ensures all students feel valued and have the opportunity to grow at Live Oak Classical School. She inspires curiosity about the natural world and a love for learning. Established in her name, the fund supports students—especially those with financial need—to reflect the fullness of God’s kingdom and foster a community where all can learn, lead, and live for the Glory of God.

THE DAWN HOLMES EDUCATIONAL FUND
The Dawn Holmes Educational Fund supports nature studies at Live Oak Classical School, encouraging students to explore God’s creation. Honoring Dawn Holmes, who retired in 2025 after 16 years at Live Oak, the fund reflects her love for the Charlotte Mason philosophy—embracing beauty, hands-on learning, and wonder. With over 20 years in early childhood education, Dawn nurtured both knowledge and character. She and her husband, Chris, raised four children who all attended Live Oak, deepening their family’s lasting connection to the school.

What Live Oak Means To Our Community
While putting my 4 year old child to bed we normally sing songs as he drifts off to sleep that are gospel or hymnal songs. After three months of being a Junior Kindergarten student at Live Oak, my son informed me that tonight he wanted me to sing a new song. I asked him what song, and he replied, “Sing the Doxology, Dad.” He then sang the song for me, and in that moment my heart was touched as I realized the everlasting qualities Live Oak was assisting me as a parent through planting the seeds of songs to God that will carry with my son for a lifetime. This is only one story, and I must say that my heart is touched, changed, and blessed beyond measure by Live Oak through the overflow of my child’s education but even more by his deepening love for our Savior Jesus Christ.
