Dr. Asselin serves as the Assistant Dean of Academics for the Logic & Rhetoric Schools. She earned a B.M.E in Choral Education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Dallas Baptist University. She holds a Texas EC-12 certification in music, ESL, and educational administration. She has worked as a music teacher, 8th-grade history teacher, electives team lead, PLC coordinator, and Blended Learning lead teacher. Dr. Asselin completed her Ed.D. in Learning and Organizational Change at Baylor University. Her dissertation, “In the Area: Understanding the Stories of Female Educators Who Have Experienced Shame in Public Schools,” expands on what elicits shame in teachers, and how to establish brave and vulnerable workplaces. Before serving at Live Oak beginning in 2023, she spent eight years in public, private, charter, and fine arts academy education. She lives in Waco with her sheepadoodle, Scout.
